A moms review:
We received two fabulous Rock 'N Learn DVDs to review, Telling Time and Addition & Subtraction Rap. These DVDs which are made right here in the USA are fabulous. Not only are they educational, but they are also tons of fun. These DVDs are perfect for families and schools. Each DVD is labeled with the recommended grade level (PreK-5th grade) or age level so you can easily choose the ones that will be best for child. Both of the DVDs we reviewed are for children in 1st grade and up. Rock 'N Learn DVDs are the perfect supplement for visual and multi-sensory learners. And many of the Rock 'N Learn DVDs are correlated to Common Core Standards as well as National Science Education Standards.
We approach math a little differently in our household. We currently do not utilize a math curriculum, instead we apply math concepts to our everyday learning and incorporate it into other subjects. We learn concepts through fun, hands on experiences. So the Rock N' Learn math DVDs were the perfect fit for our family. Each of these DVDs makes math fun and engaging.
The Telling Time DVD covers digital and analog time as well as days of the week, months of the year and how calendars work. The DVD is broken into chapters so it makes it very easy to cover one concept at a time...or if your children enjoy it as much as mine did then you can watch it straight through the first time and go back through more slowly for review.
Children will learn to tell time to the half hour, quarter hour, five minutes and eventually the minute. Timothy Time is the main character that walks children through the time concepts. He is funny, colorful and quite adorable. Throughout the DVD there are plenty of chances for children to practice and review their skills.
The Addition and Subtraction Rap DVD covers addition and subtraction facts in a fun, motivational attention grabbing way. The DVD is broken into chapters so it makes it super easy to cover one concept at a time.
D.J Doc Roc is the main character that rocks children through each concept. He is fun, colorful and makes math exciting. Several of the songs have delayed answers so that children can interact with the DVD and check the progress they are making.
And as if the DVDs aren't enough Rock 'N Learn has additional resources for teachers and parents on the Marko The Pencil website. There are tests, posters, worksheets and more.
I highly recommend dancing your way over to the Rock 'N Learn website to watch or listen to samples...once you do you will be hooked.
Rock 'N Learn also makes Mobile apps for Android and iPhone, iBooks, iTunes and Audio CDs. We have a couple of the Android Apps and they are favorites in our house.

I would choose
Learn a Language Dvd
It was hard to pick just one, but I'd go with the Spanish one.
I like the math dvds. we need help in math.
I am not sure--maybe a math one.
Such a tough choice! I think I would go with the Human Body DVD, but the Writing Strategies looks great, too!
I would choose money and making change we are struggling a bit with that concept in our house right now :)
