We received two fabulous Rock 'N Learn DVDs to review, Human Body and Life Science. How do you keep two kids quiet on a 4 hour car trip? Pop in a Rock 'N Learn DVD. We recently went to Nashville, TN and the kids watched each one at least twice. Even I found myself rocking along to the catchy songs!
These DVDs which are made right here in the USA are fabulous. They are very educational, fun, colorful and have adorable characters. They are perfect for families and schools. Each DVD is labeled with the recommended grade level so you can choose the ones that are a perfect fit for your children. There are products available from Preschool all the way through 5th grade.The two we choose are recommended for grades 3-8 but my soon to be 1st and 2nd grader enjoyed them and had no problem following along. Many of the Rock 'N Learn DVDs are correlated to Common Core Standards as well as National Science Education Standards.
I love how Rock 'N Learn labeled various images throughout the episode. This is a great way for children to not only learn a new vocab word but also see how it is spelled! So many topics were covered in these DVDs in just under an hour. We recently did a butterfly unit study so I was thrilled there was a section on the Life Science DVD about the Life Cycle of a Butterfly. And during our trip to Nashville, TN we visited Opryland Botanical Gardens and the kids were well prepared thanks to the Photosynthesis, Parts of a Plant and Plant and Animals Cells material that was discussed in the Life Cycle DVD.
And as if the DVDs aren't enough Rock 'N Learn has additional resources for teachers and parents on the Marko The Pencil website. There are tests, posters, worksheets and more.
I highly recommend dancing your way over to the Rock 'N Learn website to watch or listen to samples...once you do you will be hooked.
