On October 20th our family as well as several families from our homeschool group will be participating in the JDRF Walk To Cure Diabetes in Atlanta, GA. As you may know my husband has Type 1 Diabetes. He was diagnosed with T1D when he was 19 yrs old and in college but he had been suffering from the effects of diabetes for many years prior to being diagnosed. After years of insulin injections he finally got on an insulin pump in 2002. Being on the pump has definitely helped him better manage his diabetes and helps him lead a more normal life. However he still suffers from complications like high and low blood sugar levels, occasional neoropathy and slow healing. And that is only what we can visibly notice, inside his body more is going on that is shortening his life. Type 1 diabetes affects millions of people and they have yet to discover why the numbers keep increasing each year. The Walk To Cure Diabetes helps raise money to accelerate progress on the most promising opportunities for curing, better treating, and preventing T1D.
Here is how you can help:
-Make a donation no matter how small our teams goal is $1000.
-If you live in GA consider joining our team, North GA Homeschoolers.
-Help spread the word about the diabetes walk and share the link to our page with your family and friends.
Thank you, your generous donations help find a cure for my husband and the millions of other diabetics.
Thanks for your support!!!
