The object of the game is to familiarize kids with using a mobile device to scan QR Codes to arrive at an online destination.
There is a QR scanner App by QR CODE CITY available for FREE download for iPhone at - http://itunes.apple.com/us/
and QR Droid is available for FREE download for Android at - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=la.droid.qr&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImxhLmRyb2lkLnFyIl0.
How to play:
Print the 6 Riddles and QR Codes file (you can also click on the picture below) for each of your children. Read each riddle, one at a time, to the children. Ask if the children know the answer to the riddle or brainstorm possible answers. To see if the answer to the riddle is correct, have the children use the QR Code scanner app to scan the QR CODE (right side of the Riddles and QR Codes file). As the children arrive at each website page, there will be a picture of the riddle’s answer and a “prize” the children can print!
Note: If you don't have a printer you can still play. Your phone App should be able to read the QR Code right off of the computer screen (mine did).
The GREEN PHOTO (below) is an extension activity for older kids who can read and may want more of a challenge.
How to play:
Cut the riddle cards and QR Code cards apart and place into 2 piles. As the kids draw one riddle card, they have to scan the QR cards to find the MATCHING card. The game is over once all the riddles have been matched to the corresponding QR Code card.
We hope you and your children enjoy the opportunity to use QR Code technology in a FUN way!
