1) The library they are FREE as long as you don't rack up late fees.
2) Library book sales. Check out several library systems, if your state has more than one. Some offer better deals on used books. For example in the North GA area the Pickens county library has kids books for .25 cents to $1.00 where as the Roswell library kid books are almost always $1.00 up.
3) Barnes and Nobles make sure you get a educators card so you can save 20% off and 25% off on special educator days.
4) Amazon used books. I have bought a few off of Amazon and so far the quality is always like new.
5) Scholastic Warehouse SALE. Get 50%-80% off GREAT books.
6) Local book festivals. These are great ways to get good deals on books and also meet some authors. We are going to go to the AJC Decatur Book Festival this year.
7) Better World Books there are some great deals on used books and shipping is FREE.
8) Goodwill and thrift stores. You can always find great treasures at these places. I recently had a friend pick me up some American Girl books for 50 cents each. And she found a bunch of Magic Treehouse books for her sons.
9) Half.com you can find pretty good deals here too. For example a used copy of Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows hardcover is .75 cents + $3.99 shipping.
10) Looking for old out of print books. Then check out Old Childrens Books. Some of these are inexpensive others because of their rarity are more expensive.
