Patch the Pirate - The Misterslippi River Race Review

While at Teach Them Diligently I discovered the Majesty Music booth and learned more about the Patch the Pirate CDs. I had stumbled upon the Patch the Pirate website earlier this year (you may remember me sharing the link) but we had never actually had the pleasure of hearing a CD. Well we were blessed by the gentleman working at the booth with our very own copy of The Misterslippi River Race.  So now I can share with you just how wonderful these CDs are.

A moms review:
Remember Psalty The Singing Songbook or Bullfrogs and Butterflys? Well Patch the Pirate brought back some great childhood memories for me.

Each CD teaches an important character lesson. In The Misterslippi River Race kids learn about trusting Christ.
This CD is also very special because your family will learn how Patch The Pirate became a pirate. This story is amazing. Ron Hamilton wad just 27 years old when his eye doctor saw something suspicious in Rons left eye. After many tests Ron was rolled into surgery. After awaking from surgery Ron didcoveted his eye was gone.  He was disappointed but he trusted Jesus Christ and he knew that God had promised him that "all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose" Romans 8:28. Ron received his first eye patch and suddenly be became a pirate. The children at his church gave him his new nickname - Patch the Pirate. Ron says that "God has graciously given Ron and his family an exciting music ministry to families around the world through Patch the Pirate Story and Song Adventures and radio broadcasts."

A few more things I love about the Patch The Pirate CDs is that they travel to different parts of the world, time periods and even space. So not only are kids learning an important character lesson they are also learning some geography, science and history as well. I also love that the Patch The Pirate CDs are done by the entire Hamilton family - Ron/Patch the Pirate, Alyssa/Peanut, Jonathan/PeeWee, Tara/Pixie, Shelly/Sissy Seagull, Jason/PJ and Megan/Princess.

Gwyns review (6 yrs old):
My favorite character is Pixie and Princess. I liked everything about the music.

Great for church groups or homeschool groups.

I grew up with Patch the Pirate and the voice of Ron Hamilton singing "Rejoice in the Lord" (the hymn he wrote after his surgery) is still one of my earliest memories. =)
