National Craft Month With Rose Art

Did you know that March is National Craft Month? I'll admit I didn't and our family is big into art and crafting. So for the next 4 weeks I will be sharing a craft project along with a how to. And we will be using a lot of Rose Art products.

Here is a picture of the supplies we will be working with courtesy of Rose Art.

When I opened this box Gwyn wen absolutely crazy and was ready to get crafting right away.

So this week I decided to do a craft to go along with our Dr. Seuss unit. We used "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish" as inspiration.

Materials we used:
-White paper
-White School Glue
-Tempera Painters
-Water Colors
-Glitter Glue
-Great Grip Paint Brushes
-Beans (various colors)
-Bubble Wrap
-3D Creamy Gel Pen
-Jumbo Glitter Glue
-Monster Marker Stamps
-Wiggle Eyes

Instructions:
1.)
Draw a  fish bowl on a piece of white paper and cut it out. Daddy drew ours for us.

2.) Paint the fish bowl using either water colors or temper painters. Gwyn liked the way the water colors looked. But Rowyn found it easier to use the tempera painters. The tempera painters are great for small hands who are still working on their motor skills.

3.) Glue some beans at the bottom of the bowl to look like gravel. The Rose Art glue goes on very nicely and adheres great. It also dries clear.

4.) Cover your child's hand with tempera paint. Warning be careful it dries quickly so make sure you put a generous amount on and make the hand print fish quickly.

5.) Add some fun decorations to your fish. My kids opted for glitter glue, 3D gel and horns made with the monster stampers. We also added a wiggle eye. You could also add some fun fish bowl decorations like algae or a treasure chest. Gwyn also wrote One Fish, Two Fish at the top of her bowl since we were doing this to go along with our Dr. Seuss unit.

6.) Cut out some bubbles from a piece of bubble wrap and glue them on the fish bowl. This can be very tricky if you want to keep the bubbles in tact. I had to cut them for the kids and it took me several tries because I kept popping them. The bigger bubble wrap is easier than the small.

7.)
Wash up and show off your finished project.

I absolutely love that all of the Rose Art products are WASHABLE!!!!! The bubble wrap we used for the craft and the brown packaging paper we used as our drop cloth were actually the packaging materials from the box of Rose Art supplies. Yup I love to recycle stuff and use it for crafting. We have a huge bin filled with bottles, toilet paper rolls, jars, cans, egg cartons, paper, CDs, etc.

ALL WASHABLE. So no need to worry about clothes hands or even carpet. Yup I can attest it comes out of carpet.
