We won a copy of God's Amazing Creatures and Me on a MasterBooks Twitter Party a couple of months ago. WHAT?? You don't know what a MasterBooks Twitter Party is! Well it's one of my favorite online parties and it happens EVERY month. We have won so many wonderful books on the Twitter parties and so have my friends. The next party will be Tuesday February 21st at 9 pm EST so mark your calendar. You can view more details about the parties here. The featured prize this month will be The Day the World Went Wacky (which we do not own so you can guarantee I will be there). To join a twitter party just log into twitter and follow the hashtag #TeachtheTruth. It is easier to follow a Twitter party if you use something like TweetChat or TweetGrid. If you have any questions about Twitter parties leave me a comment I will be glad to help.
Alright back to the book that I am reviewing and giving away (sorry I get distracted even when I type). We won a copy of God's Amazing Creatures and Me actually we won two (we gave the other copy to a friend). The book is written by Helen Haidle and Illustrated by Paul Haidle. We just started to read this devotional book recommended for boys and girls ages 6-10 in January. The kids have really been enjoying it (even the 4 1/2 yr old). There are 45 animals and devotionals covered. This book teaches children very valuable character lessons by exploring the wonderful creatures God created.
And did you know that Master Books now offers many of their books in digital format?
Each devotional is written in the same format. First you will explore the animal and learn more about them. Their habits, diets, habitats, anatomy, etc. There are beautiful pen and ink illustrations of each animal as well. Next you will use the information you learned about each animal to find out how it correlates to a message in the Bible. Then you will discuss with your children their thoughts and feelings. And lastly you end with a memory verse.
One of our favorites so far was the zebra, "Just like the zebra has its own set of stripes, you are unique in God's eyes, God made each person to be a unique individual."
Each devotional takes only about 15 minutes and can be read at any time of the day. We chose to read ours in the morning. For homeschoolers you could even expand on the devotionals by studying the animals more in depth. Going on a nature walk and trying to spot some of the animals discussed. Or reading it before a trip to the zoo and discussing what you learned from the devotionals while at the zoo.
The book is currently $8.99 for both the hard and digital copies. The hard copy can be purchased through Amazon and the digital copy can be purchased through iTunes.

As a result, I might get paid money and I will most likely spend the money on homeschool supplies.

We just started this devotional with the kids and they love it! They actually ask to do it before bed! We have been searching for one a 10 year old girl and a 6 year old boy could both agree on and this is it!
Love this devotional. If we win this, I want to gift it to my sister since we own one already!!
I'd love to have a hard copy of this to use with Mr. T and Bean!
