Six years ago today we went to the hospital because I was started having strong contractions and was worried about going to work and going into labor especially since we were down to one car. So we went to the OB/GYN and he said we should head into the hospital because I was 4 cm. Well after arriving my Dr. who happened to be working at the hospital that day said we came in too early and didn't think I was quite 4 cm. But since we lived about 45 minutes away from the hospital and there is almost always traffic on the highways in Atlanta he said, "So do you wanna have a baby today?" Sure we said and they induced me. We called everyone who wanted to attend the birth and ended up having my best friend at the time, the kids godfather and his girlfriend at the time, my dad, my sister, my brother and my sister-in-law in the room. The Dr. joked that if one more person showed up he was gonna start charging admission. People think I am crazy for having that many people in the room but giving birth is an amazing thing and something everyone should witness. And so our first child Gwyndolyn entered the world 2 weeks before her due date which was February 5th. She was born on January 20th at 7:20 pm via a completely natural delivery (well expect for the pitocin). She was so tiny weighing 6 lbs 5 oz and 19" long. And her cord was too short so they had to cut it before putting her on my chest. We were so excited and scared at the same time.
She is such a blessing from God and is a sweet, beautiful, energetic girl. She amazes me everyday with how quickly she learns. She is has grown up so much in the last 6 yrs. She loves helping momma and loves giving hugs.
When we decided to have kids the plan was for me to be a stay at home mom but it just wasn't going to work out that way because of bills, a house payment etc. So I worked and my mom took care of Gwyndolyn for us. But this past August though I was finally able to quite my job and become a stay at home and homeschool mom. I am so happy to finally be at home with my kids.
Happy Birthday Gwyndolyn we love you very much!
