A day in the life...

Not Back to School Blog Hop

This is the last week for the "Not Back-to-School Blog Hop" and the theme is "A day in the life". I have been writing A week in the life of homeschoolers blog posts each Friday, but I thought I would do a quick post about how our day normally goes. We are trying to follow a routine as much as possible but there are days we do stray.

The kids generally get up at 7 am watch some TV and complete their morning charts which are posted in their bedroom. Meanwhile I either sleep in or get up and get some things done such as take a shower, make breakfast or complete some last minute workbox planning.

8:00 am - Breakfast
8:30 am - Chores
9:00 am - Discuss the weather and the day of the week, month and any holidays that are being celebrated

9:00 am - Workboxes - About 11:30 am they have a little break and snack. During the time they are doing workboxes I try to get chores done or accomplish some personal things like reading, clipping coupons, scrapbooking etc. But I always make sure I near them since they still need a lot of guidance and help.

1:00 pm
- Lunch
1:30 pm - Story time
2:00 pm - Playtime/TV time/video game time - I generally get in my Facebook, Twitter and blogging during this time.
5:00 pm - Dinner
6:00 pm - Baths
7:30 pm - Story time and bed time for Rowyn
8:00 pm - Story time and bed time for Gwyn
8:00 pm - Catch up on Facebook, Twitter and blogging. And then spend time with my wonderful, hard working husband.
At some variable time - Bedtime for me

Well that is our day in a nut shell. It varies some depending upon field trips, library outings, speech therapy appointments, and sports.

Thanks for stopping by!

I need to do cute little morning routine schedules with visuals! That is a really good tool for kids to self motivate.
